Closer Look at Antiquity Era Leaders! (Indie Historical)

Indie Historical trading cards feature a very diverse checklist with many leaders across many era's of civilization. The founders edition features over 20 leaders from the Antiquity Era. Here are a few.

Classical antiquity refers to the period of history encompassing the ancient civilizations of Greece and Rome, spanning roughly from the 8th century BCE to the 6th century CE. This era is marked by significant achievements in art, philosophy, literature, and science, laying the foundational principles that influenced later European culture and thought.

Hammurabi - The sixth king of the Old Babylonian Empire and ruled from around 1792 to 1750 BCE. He expanded his kingdom from a city-state into a major empire that dominated Mesopotamia. 

Augustus - Augustus (also known as Octavian) was the first emperor of ancient Rome. Augustus came to power after the assassination of Julius Caesar in 44 BCE.

 

Hannibal Barca - Carthaginian general during the Second Punic War between Carthage and Rome (218-202 BCE). He is considered one of the greatest generals of antiquity and his tactics are still studied and used in the present day.

Ptolemy I Soter - Ptolemy I Soter (366-282 BCE) was one of the successor kings to the empire of Alexander the Great. He served not only as king of Egypt but also the founder of the Ptolemaic Dynasty, a dynasty which included the infamous Cleopatra VII.

King Alexander the Great - Legendary ancient Greek king of Macedonia who became one of the most successful military commanders in history, creating a vast empire that stretched from Greece to Egypt and India.

Constantine the Great - Roman emperor who was the first to convert to Christianity and issued the Edict of Milan in 313, which granted religious tolerance throughout the empire. He is also known for moving the capital of the Roman Empire from Rome to a new city he founded, Constantinople.

Cleopatra VII - Cleopatra VII was the last pharaoh of Egypt. She was a Macedonian Greek who ruled Egypt for nearly three decades.

Cyrus II - Cyrus II of Persia (c. 600 – 530 BC), commonly known as Cyrus the Great, was the founder of the Achaemenid Empire. Hailing from Persis, he brought the Achaemenid dynasty to power by defeating the Median Empire and embracing all of the previous civilized states of the ancient Near East, expanding vastly across most of West Asia and much of Central Asia to create what would soon become the largest empire in history at the time.
